Ishaan is learning math on his own..he surprises me often. the other day he drew a sketch of the Empire State Building...in parallel to that he drew a number line keeping 100as the center and wrote backwards ten numbers and forward ten numbers then he told me "mom empire state has 102 floors so if it had only 93 floors then 9 floors still left to build..."

What is learning?

A child says, while pointing to objects consecutively, "two, two, two"

Observing this, her parents point out a picture of an octopus in a book and ask her how many arms it has. She obliges, "two, two, two, two, two, two, two, two!" The last "two" is said with a flourish, as if to report the total – or that is how it sounds to us, since we are used to counting in this cadence.

A month back a bitch in our neighborhood gave birth to four pups. Gourika and Ishaan would go every morning to feed the pups milk and play with them. One day Gourika came home and told me how a girl about her age R, would not allow her to cuddle the pups and was hostile towards her. It seems R told her to beat it and not touch the pups as R felt only she had a right to take care of the pups.
